Chiefs Free Agency: KC Hosting Tight End John Carlson For Visit

Sean Jensen is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs have scheduled a formal visit with tight end John Carlson of the Seattle Seahawks. The move would be a fantastic addition to the Kansas City offense given the need for another tight end as a receiving threat as well as the health concerns around Tony Moeaki.

Carlson is a nice sized target at 6-5, 256 lbs. and he will turn 28 later on this spring. Last year, Carlson was out for the season, so he’s likely to come on an incentive laden deal, or at the very least he’ll be a cheaper option. However, the Notre Dame product has shown strong receiving ability in the past.

The New York Times labeled

him the third best free agent in the tight end crop this season (with Dallas Clark at No. 1). Evan Silva has him rated at the bottom of his top 100 free agents available at No. 97.
