Chiefs Free Agency: Eric Winston, Mike Tolbert Among Scheduled Visits

The folks over at Arrowhead Pride are relieved to find out that Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli had not forgotten about the start of free agency. In fact, Kansas City had an interesting day on Tuesday with visits from some quality prospects.

Among those players is OT Eric Winston, who was the staple of a solid offensive line with the Houston Texans but was cut earlier this week to create extra cap space. Winston's availability caught most by surprise, but it certainly gained interest from the Chiefs.

After Winston made his first visit, which was to the Miami Dolphins where he is brother Matt works as a scout, he made the trip to Kansas City, where he would fill a much needed position with the team.

RB Peyton Hillis also visited the Chiefs, and would play with Jamal Charles if he signed up to play in Kansas City. Hillis is a unique character who apparently wore out his welcome in Cleveland, injury not withstanding. He would be a nice addition to the Chiefs' offense, if he's really interested.

Kansas City also hosted visits for RB Mike Tolbert and TE John Carlson. Unlike Hillis, Tolbert reportedly has five teams interested in him and could be less likely to sign. Carlson has already signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
