Brandon Carr To Cowboys Rumors: Dallas Still Working Out Deal For Chiefs Cornerback

The Brandon Carr rumors that have the former Chiefs cornerback headed to the Dallas Cowboys are still likely true given that Calvin Watkins is reporting that both parties are still working on a deal. Nothing is official, but it’s clear that this visit was intended to really be the only one and that they are likely to pay him handsomely.

The San Francisco 49ers were rumored to be interested, but it was likely a ploy in negotiations for Carlos Rogers, who quickly signed a four-year deal with the Niners last night. Cortland Finnegan was also quickly off the market by signing a five-year, $50 million deal with the St. Louis Rams. Carr easily became the best target left and the Cowboys have a need for such a dynamic young corner.

Carr left the Chiefs after being unable to work out a long-term deal. The team also failed to use the franchise tag on Carr and instead placed it on Dwayne Bowe.
