The primary need for the Kansas City Chiefs is definitely found along the offensive line. Right tackle is usually the position pointed to the fastest when analyzing the Chiefs roster for issues, but depth at all positions is a point of concern. It’s not surprising then that the Chiefs are bringing in one of the most versatile, competent linemen to hit free agency.
Dave Birkett is reporting that Geoff Schwartz of the Carolina Panthers is making the rounds and has scheduled the Chiefs as he also visits the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. It’s not often that players get out of one visit, let alone a few, so it remains to be seen whether Schwartz will even make the trip.
Still it’s a nice name to hear associated with the Chiefs since he was one of the most heralded linemen among free agents this season, and Pro Football Focus called him their “secret superstar” at one point. The Chiefs could definitely use the help at all points, and it will be interesting to see what happens between this scheduled visit and Eric Winston’s visit today at Arrowhead.
