NFL Mock Draft: Chiefs Take Dontari Poe In SB Nation's Latest

The Kansas City Chiefs have been zeroing in on defensive tackles in many mock drafts lately and the latest from SB Nation’s Ryan Van Bibber is no different. The latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft has the Chiefs taking Dontari Poe from Memphis to help plug the middle:

Poe’s athleticism is notable, especially for a 350-pounder, but there are questions about whether or not that will translate to him being a consistent threat in the NFL. Either way, the Chiefs can hope for the upside, or at least get a very good nose tackle.

Given the likely retirement or at least exit of Kelly Gregg, the Chiefs have no experienced or high impact player for the defensive interior. Poe would give them the big body to build around and develop on the front end. Now the Chiefs just have to hope that he’s still there when the real thing goes down in late April.
