Chiefs, Patriots Among Several Teams Watching Trent Richardson And Rest Of Alabama Pro Day

The University of Alabama Pro Day held several hopefuls for the 2012 NFL Draft recently, including numerous first round candidates, so it’s no surprise to see that several NFL teams showed up, including the Chiefs. From red hot running back Trent Richardson to the best safety in the draft in Mark Barron, there are many dynamic players to consider for a team’s draft board.

WNSP reports, “In attendance were New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur and Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel. Also there were general managers Ruston Webster of the Tennessee Titans, Trent Baalke of the San Francisco 49ers, Martin Mayhew of the Detroit Lions, Kevin Colbert of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tom Heckert of the Cleveland Browns.”

The official word is that 14 players worked out, so it wouldn’t surprise if the Chiefs sent more than just Crennel to scope out the scene. While Richardson and Barron would be stretch picks, both DE/OLB Courtney Upshaw and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick warrant a look at the team’s first round spot.
