Peter King Has Brandon Carr As Sixth Best Available Free Agent

The battle is on for who is the top free agent cornerback on the market in the upcoming NFL free agency period between Cortland Finnegan of the Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs' Brandon Carr. No matter who comes out on top, however, both are about to get paid like the best.

In his list of Top 50 Available Free Agents, Peter King of Sports Illustrated says that Finnegan is the better of the two and has the Titans corner at No. 3 overall. Carr comes in just a bit behind at No. 6. King writes, "Paucity of CBs makes his value skyrocket. He'll have at least five suitors." He says that the Lions will look at Finnegan, but they should also take a closer examination of Carr since that's his hometown team.

Carr has four seasons of experience starting with KC, but he's only 25 years old. A multi-year deal for Carr is hardly any risk for the team that signs him.
