Pope was picked up by the Chiefs before the 2009 season and in three years in Kansas City, he caught 54 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns. The Chiefs signed tight end Kevin Boss, who will likely be Matt Cassel's top target at the tight end position, this offseason, so they could afford to let Pope go.
