2012 NFL Draft: Projected First-Rounder Dontari Poe Visits The Chiefs

NFL.com reports that Dontari Poe has visited the Kansas City Chiefs along with three other teams - Carolina, Minnesota and Philadelphia - after a blistering NFL Combine performance that has the University of Memphis defensive tackle projected anywhere from the Top 10 of the NFL Draft to the bottom of the first round.

Earlier in the week, a NFL.com mock draft featuring four different contributors had Poe in drastically different places on the board - going as high as No. 9 to the Panthers, and as low as No. 30 to the 49ers (13th and 15th were the other spots). The knock on Poe is that he's a raw talent lacking the level of production normally seen in Top 10 or Top 15 picks, and the lack of success of Memphis overall is considered a factor.

The last highly-publicized defensive tackle the Chiefs took in the first round was Glenn Dorsey of LSU in 2008, a move largely considered a bust.
