Stanford Routt might be a better fit for the Kansas City Chiefs than what anyone realizes if he brings his charitable spirit along with him to the Kansas City area. For a team known for a strong presence with KC area non-profits, Routt adds yet another Chiefs player known for his willingness to give to causes he believes in. The University of Houston, Routt's alma mater, is the latest recipient to the UH Athletics Sports Medicine Staff.
"Stanford has always been so generous to us here at Houston and we are just so honored by his donation to our department," Head Athletics Trainer Michael O'Shea said. "We had a very generous gift from Donnie Avery (Indianapolis Colts) last year and to have Stanford reach out to provide us with the opportunity to upgrade our equipment and supplies impacts each of our student-athletes here at UH."
Routt will replace Brandon Carr as the starter opposite of Brandon Flowers for the Chiefs.
