NFL Draft 2012: Chiefs Predicted To Grab Ryan Tannehill At No. 11

The Kansas City Chiefs have been linked to Ryan Tannehill in a number of mock drafts or even trade-up scenarios in the 2012 NFL Draft, and the latest comes from Draft Breakdown’s Eric Stoner. He has the Chiefs taking the Texas A&M quarterback in the first round even with other popular options on the table.

It’s an interesting mock considering that David DeCastro falls all the way to No. 18 and Dontari Poe is also on the table before being taken at No. 14 by the Dallas Cowboys. The Chiefs have been linked to both. Even more surprising is Luke Kuechly falling to the Chicago Bears at No. 19. This is a clear “Chiefs love Tannehill more than any other” scenario that hasn’t really played out in any other mock this offseason.

Stoner is either onto something here given that the Chiefs have worked out Tannehill and the player has spent some time in KC, or else he’s completely mistaken by Tannehill’s stock and the Chiefs interest. It’s our belief the Chiefs will pass on Tannehill after doing their due diligence. However, it’s interesting to identify a mock draft that has the Chiefs thinking the complete opposite.
