NFL Mock Draft 2012: Luke Kuechly To Chiefs In Latest Mock

The latest mock draft to come in from is from Chad Reuter who believes the Chiefs will ultimately go with help in the middle of the defense with their first overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft. With his latest mock, Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly is the choice at No. 11 for the Chiefs.

Reuter writes, “Kuechly’s ability to find his way through traffic in the run game and also drop into coverage instantly upgrades the Chiefs’ defense.”

The only surprise in Reuter’s draft is that he has Michael Floyd heading to the Buffalo Bills at No. 10, which means names like Riley Reiff and Quinton Coples fall farther than expected to No. 16 and 19 respectively. David DeCastro, the other favorite for the Chiefs first round choice, falls at No. 13 to the Arizona Cardinals.

Kuechly would certainly provide a three-down upgrade in the middle where Jovan Belcher and Brandon Siler are expected to contend for the starting spot next to Derrick Johnson. Justin Houston and Tamba Hali would round out a starting linebacking corps that would rival any in the NFL.
