NFL Mock Draft 2012: Chiefs Come Away With Luke Kuechly, Brandon Thompson In 7-Round Mock At NFL.com

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking for help all over in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, stating earlier this offseason that they are open to go in any direction. Judging by the draft haul projected by Chad Reuter in his incredible seven round mock for NFL.com, Reuter believes they will do just that.

Luke Kuechly is the first round choice for the Chiefs, one that would make the Chiefs linebacking corps among the best in the NFL. From there, the team moves to defensive line for Brandon Thompson and safety for Brandon Taylor from Clemson and LSU respectively. In the end, the Chiefs avoid a quarterback and fail to grab any of the recognizable names most fans have connected the team with — even in the later rounds.

Here’s Reuter’s complete projections for the Cowboys including round chosen and overall selection in parentheses:
1 (11) Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College
2 (44) Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson
3 (74) Brandon Taylor, SS, LSU
4 (107) Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State
5 (146) Joe Looney, OG, Wake Forest
6 (182) Tom Compton, OT, South Dakota
7 (218) Eric Page, WR, Toledo
7 (238) Bradie Ewing, FB, Wisconsin
