NFL Draft 2012: Chiefs Meet WIth Morgan State Tight End Lamont Bryant

Aaron Wilson of Scout.com has the latest on the Kansas City Chiefs pre-draft meetings with players an the latest is Morgan State tight end Lamont Bryant. It’s the sort of late tight end addition fans are used to in the seventh round and the Chiefs have two choices in the round.

Wilson writes, “Morgan State tight end Lamont Bryant visited the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks, according to a league source. Bryant is a 6-foot-5, 229-pounder who has played wide receiver, tight end and H-back and is projected as a late-rounder or priority free agent.”

The Chiefs recently signed Kevin Boss to a three-year free agent deal and have Tony Moeaki in the wings, but there’s no great blocking tight end on the roster. Plus health issues took out both Moeaki and Boss for significant time in 2011. The Chiefs could use another developmental player in the draft if they wanted to add one.

The NFL Draft starts tonight with the first round on ESPN and NFL Network at 7pm Central.
