2012 NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs Still No. 28 With Matt Cassel At Quarterback For Yahoo! Sports Mike Silver

Mike Silver has a question in his NFL Power Rankings column after the 2012 NFL Draft for Yahoo! Sports. It's a question about the Kansas City Chiefs that plagues him so much that he can't get over any new draft choice or any free agent acquisition because it keeps nagging at him. Namely, Silver doesn't believe the team is any better at quarterback, and that makes all the difference.

Specifically Silver has the Chiefs at No. 28 in his Power Rankings at this point, a number that represents one of the league's worst teams.

Silver writes, "Do Scott Pioli and Romeo Crennel seem overly optimistic in their assessment of the Chiefs' talent level - or am I just so pessimistic about K.C.'s quarterback situation that it completely clouds my thinking?"

For the Chiefs to be among the four or five worst teams in the NFL is ridiculous. After an offseason where they grabbed Eric Winston, Kevin Boss, Peyton Hillis and others, drafted an entire class and expect guys like Tony Moeaki, Eric Berry and Jamaal Charles to return from injury, this will be an entirely new team for the Chiefs. Silver likely knows the answer to his question already, but the Chiefs will likely reveal the answer in 2012.
