Yeremiah Bell Reportedly Signing With New York Jets For $1.4 Million

After former Miami Dolphins safety Yeremiah Bell toured around several stops in the NFL, including the Kansas City Chiefs, he has now apparently decided on his final destination with a reported one-year deal with the New York Jets. If the Jets are going to let Jim Leonhard go, then this veteran acquisition makes sense.

The Chiefs have looked at veteran safety help for the back-up position behind Eric Berry and Kendrick Lewis, although Lewis could certainly be supplanted if the right person was available. The team also drafted Dequan Menzie, so he will compete at the position, but adding a player like Bell, or even Leonhard for that matter, makes sense.

Several more veterans will be cut as the regular season grows closer, so just because a team doesn't make a move now doesn't mean other options aren't available.
