And they're off. The 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft is right around the corner (read: Thursday) and the draft stock of hopefuls like Josh Gordon are climbing higher than ever due to the hype around a draft of any type, but especially when there are no other options even close to his talent level. Gordon has went from a potential mid-round prospect to a second round value and now players are pushing their respective teams to fight for him. Or at least Robert Griffin III is.
RG3 is pushing the Redskins brass hard to land Gordon in tomorrow's draft. Many teams interested, about 20 at Gordon's pro day Tues...

The Redskins are going to need wide receivers to pair with their new quarterback, but the Skins hardly have the draft assets to play around. They went all in with those assets on Griffin which is why they went the free agent route this spring to bring in Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan.
It will be interesting to see where Gordon goes only to find out how much of this is hype and how much is real. The Chiefs also checked in on him, so perhaps there's something there. Given how high Gordon is said to be going, it's hard to see Scott Pioli pulling the trigger.
