Former Chiefs offensive line great Brian Waters is not afraid to make his opinions known if he is unhappy with his role or roster situation with a team. Whether or not that's behind his reported absence with the New England Patriots training camp today is unknown, but it wouldn't surprise if Waters has big things on his mind if the reports are true.

Waters was released by the Chiefs last offseason as Scott Pioli continued the youth movement along the line, and the future Hall of Famer eventually landed with New England. He responded with a Pro Bowl season and became another successful veteran reclamation project for the Pats front office and coaching staff.
With Kansas City, Waters made his frustrations known when Pioli first took the job, so perhaps there's some drama behind it. If he's thinking of retiring, Bedard doesn't seem convinced.
I don't think Waters is retiring. working on a post

The Patriots will find out soon enough what is keeping Waters away. For now, he's missing in action which always makes fans wonder what exactly is going on.
