Edgar Jones Officially Signs With Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs did not waste any time after getting a look at former Baltimore Ravens defender Edgar Jones. It was announced late tonight that the two sides had reached and agreement and it's clear that Jones will be with the Chiefs going forward in training camp.

It's the second veteran acquisition in the last few days after the Chiefs also brought in offensive tackle Tony Ugoh, formerly a second round choice of the Indianapolis Colts before spending last season with the New York Giants. Jones should be expected to compete at defensive end and outside linebacker and has special teams experience.

The 27-year-old has 41 games of experience with the Ravens as a defender and special teams player, although he's never started a game in his career. His flexibility also includes a possibility of playing some tight end. Perhaps that versatility is what drew Scott Pioli's eye.
