The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the official dates, times and locations for their 2012 Chiefs Celebration Tour Schedule that starts this week in St. Joseph, Missouri, the site of the Chiefs training camp. The fan caravan is intended to serve as a major part of the Chiefs 50th anniversary as they celebrate with fans in various ways.
"We are extremely proud to have called Kansas City home for 50 years," tema owner Clark Hunt said. "Kansas City is the ‘Home of the Chiefs,' but our following extends far beyond the city limits. In honor of our fans across the region, we're going to take our celebration on the road, traveling around the area to say ‘thank you' to all who have supported us over the years."
The promotions this season started with the recent announcement of a free new jersey for every season ticket holder. Now it continues with the tour.
All tour stops will include autograph and photo opportunities with Hall of Fame greats Len Dawson and Bobby Bell. The first 200 people will receive a pass to get autographs (subject to availability). All fans will get the opportunity to take a photo with the Lombardi Trophy from the Chiefs victory in Super Bowl IV during the tour stops. Every stop on the schedule will last from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
In addition to Len Dawson and Bobby Bell, the Chiefs Cheerleaders, KC Wolf, team executives and Chiefs media personalities including Mitch Holthus, Josh Looney or Shanna Hilt will also make appearances at the various tour stops.
