Chiefs Training Camp: Romeo Crennel Discusses Junior Hemingway Injury

The Kansas City Chiefs have fared well when it comes to injuries so far this preseason, although the team is admittedly only a few days into training camp. Yet compared to a year ago, the Chiefs could hardly have a worse preseason and early season than they did in 2011. For now, Kyle McCarthy was just placed on Injured Reserve and now rookie wide receiver Junior Hemingway has experienced a minor setback.

Romeo Crennel discussed Hemingway's injury with the media before training camp today at St. Joseph as the Chiefs were prepping for their first night practice of the preseason.

"The only other thing from yesterday is Junior Hemingway got a muscle strain in the groin, so we're going to have to rest him a little bit until he can get that strength in it and then get him back out there," said Crennel. "Junior was working hard, just like all the guys are, and we think that he was making progress. So, this will set him back a little bit, but because he does work hard, I think that he'll be able to catch up pretty quickly."

A former Michigan product, Hemingway was the Chiefs second seventh round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.
