As the NFL season nears training camp in just a few weeks, it also means that fantasy football players are going to be gearing up for their own drafts. That means research is becoming more important by the day and we'll do our best here to serve you when it comes to knowledge and advice about the Kansas City Chiefs.
We will start with a quick video update from NFL Network's Michael Fabiano, who recently dished on a few choice players from the Chiefs. We transcribed his thoughts below:
On how the Chiefs should handle the tandem of Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis:
Jamaal Charles is one of several big name running backs to come off ACL surgery. The good news is that he suffered the injury early last season, so he's had more time to recover. The bad news? The Chiefs signed Peyton Hillis, the format figures to be a thunder and lightning type of backfield situation.
I still see Charles as the runner to target in fantasy drafts, but don't expect him to post top-10 numbers at his position. As for Hillis, he'll be a nice late round fantasy reserve or handcuff for owners who land Charles.
On Dwayne Bowe's season:
Dwayne Bowe scored just five times in 2011, but I expect that number to increase with Matt Cassel back under center. He could turn into a nice draft bargain especially in PPR leagues.
On whether or not the Chiefs have a sleeper candidate for Fantasy Football in 2012?
Looking for a player to watch in Kansas City, how about Jon Baldwin? The second year wideout has loads of upside and is well worth a late round look in 2012.
