With fullback Shane Bannon among the Kansas City Chiefs players dealing with slight injuries early in training camp, it's not surprising to see the front office making a move to get another body at the position on the roster. The team announced the signing of fullback Patrick DiMarco today and he will join the Chiefs soon enough.
Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel spoke about Bannon's injury today at training camp, "The only other guy, [Shane] Bannon, strained his ab, so he's not going to be out there today. We're going to rest him a little bit and then he'll be back on the field."
DiMarco is a 2011 graduate from South Carolina who signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent.
