Seattle Seahawks starting running back Marshawn Lynch is not expected to play in Friday night's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a back injury.
Lynch, who rushed six times for 37 yards in Seattle's win last Saturday against the Denver Broncos, did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday, according to Danny O'Neil of The Seattle Times.
In trying to contain Lynch, the Chiefs are missing out on a solid test for their run defense, writes Arrowhead Pride:
Friday night won't be as good of a test without Lynch playing but it'll still be a chance to improve on what went down last week. It'll also be a nice warm-up into remembering how to tackle since none of that goes on at training camp or practices anymore.
Lynch churned for 1,204 yards and 12 touchdowns, along with a receiving touchdown, last season for the Seahawks.
Kansas City hosts Seattle Friday with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT.
