Dwayne Bowe Preps For First Appearance Of NFL Preseason

Dwayne Bowe will play in his first preseason game of 2012 on Friday night against the Seahawks, and will likely see just limited action in the game. Bowe recently signed his franchise tag and has just two practices in pads since returning, and the Chiefs will likely try to take it easy with their star receiver, says Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com.

If Bowe can get the ball in his hands at least once, take a hit and throw a few blocks it will be a successful debut. Playing Bowe for an extended amount of snaps would be counterproductive and a disservice to the player.

The receiver is said to be in great condition yet is likely far from being in "game shape" after missing most of training camp and the preseason. The Chiefs don't want to risk injury or overexposing Bowe and will likely have the receiver play just a handful of snaps in his first game back.

Bowe is looking for a rebound season after an up-and-down year in 2011 that followed up a 15-touchdown campaign in 2010.
