The Kansas City Chiefs had to cut down their roster size to 53 players, and to get to that number they placed defensive back De'Quan Menzie and quarterback Alex Tanney on the injured reserve list that ends their season. Plus, they had to outright waive 19 players.

The Chiefs current 53-man roster has no fullbacks and five running backs. Jerome Long and Junior Hemingway, both 2012 draft picks, got cut, and Tysyn Hartman and Nate Eachus, who were undrafted rookies, made the team.
Even though the 53-man roster was named, every team will tinker with the bottom of their roster to try and improve their team.
