Derrick Johnson On Chiefs Vs. Saints: 'We Have To Win'

Winning is the only topic on the minds of the Kansas City Chiefs' players following a loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 that sent the team to 0-2. Linebacker Derrick Johnson went as far as to say there's a sense of urgency with the team heading into a Week 3 matchup with the also-winless New Orleans Saints.

"It's more of a sense of urgency right now to win," Johnson said in quotes provided by the team. "Kind of like last year, you get down 0-2, and you don't want to start pressing because when you press, trying to make things happen, you tend to mess up at times. Somehow we're going to have to press a little bit, but get a win. We have to win. We have to get one win this week. That's the plan, go down to New Orleans and get a win. It's going to be hard, but this is the NFL."

Johnson also touched on what he said were some communication problems the team has had.

"At times, we're not on the same page," Johnson said. "That happens sometimes in football because it's never perfect, but it hurts even worse when they capitalize off your mistakes when it's a touchdown or it's 30-40 yard run or a 30-yard pass. It's one of those things where we have to lower our mental errors. It's a communication problem. We have to play better. We will. We just need to do it now."
