NFL Odds Week 3: Chiefs Vs. Saints

The Chiefs are near double-digit dogs to the Saints in Week 3 NFL action.

Presswire

The Kansas City Chiefs are around 9-point underdogs as they travel to Louisiana to take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Last week, despite being only 3-point underdogs to the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs lost 35-17.

The line opened with the Saints as 9.5-point favorites. For one book it has gone up to 10, but on most others the line has come down to 9 or 8.5 as money has come in on the Chiefs.

The over-under point total is curiously set at 53 points, given both Kansas City and New Orleans are surrendering 37.5 points per game on the young season. While the Chiefs haven't kept up with the scoring they have allowed, averaging just 15.5 points per game, the Saints have scored 29.5 per outing.

The Chiefs pass defense has been average at best this season, which is a bad sign when going against the pass-heavy Saints. Drew Brees is averaging 332 passing yards per game so far this year.
