Safety Kendrick Lewis is getting closer to a return to the field for the Kansas City Chiefs. The safety injured himself in the second week of preseason and has been held out since then, but he returned to the practice field following their game against Buffalo.
Lewis didn't give an exact date for his return, but did hint that it would be soon, saying "I can’t give you a specific date on that. But I’m telling you that real soon you’ll be seeing me back out there."
Though he is getting closer to an eventual return, he will continue to be out for Kansas City's Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome on Sunday. He is reportedly likely to be ready for their game on Sept. 30 against the San Diego Chargers.
