Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles earned AFC Player of the Week honors after racking up 288 total yards in their 27-24 overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints this past Sunday.

Through the first three weeks of the 2012 season, both Charles' 233 rushing yards and 288 yards from scrimmage are season-highs for a single week performance for any player. And despite only compiling 90 total rushing yards through his first two games, Charles is now leading the NFL in that category following his Week 3 explosion.

In a report to the Kansas City Star, Charles admitted postgame that he "didn't trust" his surgically-repaired knee before Sunday's performance. But following the Chiefs' shocking upset in the Superdome, Charles now claims that he "kind of [feels] like the old me."

Charles exact line for Week 3 was 233 rushing yards on 33 carries including a 91-yard touchdown run. Charles also added six receptions for 55 yards.
