Jamaal Charles discusses his 233 rushing yards from week three against the New Orleans Saints.

On Sunday, Jamaal Charles became, well, Jamaal Charles. Kansas City Chiefs have been waiting for the elite running back of 2010 to break out once again after losing him for the 2011 season due to injury and subsequent surgery and rehab. Last week's ridiculous 233 rushing yards placed him squarely back into the conversation of best overall back in the NFL and brought relief to Chiefs fans everywhere.

This week he discussed the effort, including the 91-yard run he had with local media.

BRAD FANNING (KCTV5): Do you have 33 carries in you this week too?

CHARLES: "It doesn't matter. Whatever the coaches want me to carry the ball, I've got to do something to get a win. I'm just trying to help my team the best way I can."

JOSH KLINGLER (610 SPORTS RADIO): Have you seen the 91-yarder again?

CHARLES: "I saw it a couple times just watching film and watching it in the team meeting room. Yeah, I saw it a lot of times this week."

KLINGLER: Did you have an extra gear there??

CHARLES: "I just tried to put my head down and go with my track form and open my hands up and open my legs up and just go to the races."

JASON LAMB (FOX 4): What did that prove to you and to people around the NFL who may have doubts about you?

CHARLES: "Last week, a lot of the Buffalo Bills and a lot of people didn't have a lot of belief in me. What I can do might not be the same. I didn't even really worry about that. My auntie was the first person I called after that game. She was like, ‘I know what you can do. I believe in your abilities. You've just got to go out there and execute, Jamaal. We know what type of running back you are.' What my auntie said, she gave me more comfort and some more confidence in my abilities, and I just try to go out there and show what I can do myself."

MICK SHAFFER (METRO SPORTS): Was the 91-yarder a huge momentum swing?

CHARLES: "I guess when they saw me do that, it just gave us more spark. I guess it gave us more spark in the offense also. Everybody just fed off the defense when they kept stopping the Saints offense. When the offense tried to go out there and move the ball, then we tried to get in the best place to score points."
