Dexter McCluster injury: Chiefs WR says 'who knows' regarding playing status vs. Chargers

Dexter McCluster is still uncertain of his playing status on Sunday against the Chargers.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to need every possible ounce of help on offense they can get to keep up with the high powered attack of the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Dexter McCluster could play a major role for the Chiefs -- that is, if he can get healthy after a frustrating week limited by injury.

McCluster recently spoke to the press on Thursday about his week. Here's the interview:

Q: How bad did it feel right after the injury?

MCCLUSTER: "It felt bad, I kind of went into shock a little bit with the pain. Unfortunately it happened, but right now I'm still working hard and trying to stay out there."

Q: Are you surprised at how quickly you've bounced back?

MCCLUSTER: "Yeah, definitely. What I really wanted to do was try to get the swelling down as fast as possible, continue to do treatment two, three, four times a day and get back as fast as possible. But right now I'm catching fine and everything."

Q: Did you bend it back the wrong way?

MCCLUSTER: "Pretty much. Just put a little stress on it. I prayed to God that it wasn't worse than that."

Q: Do you think you're going to be good to go this weekend?

MCCLUSTER: "I'm definitely going to keep working hard to go. I'm out there practicing, getting better each and every day. Who knows."
