Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers has returned to practice on a limited basis and is questionable for the team's regular season opener Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
"If I’m out there game day, I’ll be ready to go," Flowers told the Chiefs' website. "I really don’t get all wrapped up with being 100-percent because in football, nobody is really ever 100-percent. If I’m out there, I’ll be ready."
Flowers has only recently started practicing after sustaining a left-heel injury that kept him out the entire preseason.
"It is what it is. Nobody likes being away from the game when you’re passionate about the sport," Flowers said. "You have to deal with things as they come. I’m looking forward to getting back out there.
"You can never predict injuries. I definitely wanted to get back out there sooner during the preseason, but I didn’t. So, I’ll get ready for the regular season."
