Chiefs Players Have High Expectations For Offense In 2012

The Kansas City Chiefs have been a bad preseason team for a while, and just finished the 2012 preseason with 1-3 record, but that hasn't dampened the team's hopes as they head into their season-opener against the Atlanta Falcons at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

Key components of the Chiefs offense have high expectations for 2012.

Kevin Boss: "I think we're a pretty confident bunch. It started off well that first game. We didn't play as well as we wanted the last couple of preseason games, but our confidence is still pretty high. We still have all of our weapons. It's good to have D-Bowe back. We're excited about him coming back and looking forward to getting into a real game."

Steve Breaston: "I think we feel comfortable, especially with the guys that we've got. One of the big things is having Jamaal back in the backfield. The addition of Peyton and the run game, it's going to help open up things on the outside and vice-versa. If you make plays on the outside, it will open the run game. I think we have a nice balance right now. We just have to keep working and polishing some things up. As a team, I think we're ready."

Matt Cassel: "It's been a long time coming. We've put a lot of hard work and effort into not only the offseason but mini-camps and then you get into the season and you've had four preseason games and now it's for real. We're all excited, we're enthusiastic about it, this team is working hard, so we couldn't be more excited. And, the fact that we also get to have the Opening Day at home in front of our fans and all the traditions that go along with it with Red Friday and everything else, it's going to be a great weekend."

The Chiefs, are 3-point favorites over the Falcons, according to OddsShark.

Kick off at Arrowhead Stadium is slated for noon CT. The game will be televised on FOX.
