Kansas City Chiefs To Celebrate Kansas Citians With 'Lamar Hunt Game Changers' Awards

As the Kansas City Chiefs continue to celebrate 50 years as a franchise, the team has already highlighted several aspects of the surrounding KC community through a special celebration tour, fan giveaways and even a Midwestern art initiative. Now the team has announced plans to honor 50 Kansas Citians throughout the 2012 NFL season as "Lamar Hunt Game Changers."

"Lamar Hunt's legacy stemmed from his vision, compassion, innovation, humility and his love for Kansas City," said Chiefs President Mark Donovan in a statement. "This initiative was designed to honor special individuals that share those same qualities our founder embodied."

The honorees will be featured on the team's anniversary site -- kcchiefs50.com -- with a complete profile and Donovan said the Chiefs have chosen a diverse group of people from community volunteers to people in the local spotlight.
