The Kansas City Chiefs open their season today with the visiting Atlanta Falcons coming to Arrowhead, but despite the boost at home the team is still three point underdogs to Matt Ryan and company according to Bovada.
Typically the boost playing at home is three points by itself, so it's clear that bettors believe the Falcons will be able to come in on the road to a hostile environment and open with a win. The Falcons offense is likely to be celebrated league-wide this season as Julio Jones develops alongside Roddy White. The Falcons can also run the ball and it doesn't hurt to have Tony Gonzalez as their tight end.
The Chiefs defense is also hurting at the wrong time with Tamba Hali's suspension and injury concerns for Kendrick Lewis, Brandon Flowers, Jalil Brown, Derrick Johnson, Jovan Belcher and Anthony Toribio among others.
