Tony Gonzalez Lands On NFL's Top 10 All-Time Receiving List

As if there were any questions as to whether or not Tony Gonzalez will land in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, the incredible tight end found another feather to place in his cap on Sunday in the Atlanta Falcons season-opening win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Coming into the game, Gonzalez needed 45 yards to pass Torry Holt, the former Rams great, for No. 10 on the all-time receiving yards list. He ended the game with 53.

Gonzalez now has 13,393 receiving yards in his career, making him the only non-wide receiver in the top ten. By surpassing Holt, he now moves up another slot and could also pass names like Henry Ellard and Cris Carter before this season is over.

The Falcons won the game behind the vaunted passing attack of Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Roddy White and Gonzalez and finished with a 40-24 blowout at Arrowhead Stadium.
