Few Royals Coaching Staff Changes As Ned Yost Enters Year Two

The Kansas City Royals will have at least one change to their coaching staff and possibly two, according to manager Ned Yost (via the KC Star).

Bench coach John Gibbons could be up for a managerial job:

"There could be a lot of managerial openings," Yost said, "And someone could come calling for Gibby. Time will tell on that, but that could have a domino effect."

First base coach Rusty Kuntz could become special assistant to the GM for player development:

"My priority, right now, is finding the best outfield/base-running coach I can find with the priority being on the base-running."

I think there were a few things, at times, that the Royals did very well this season that gives reason for Yost to return. Of course, they're still battling for fourth place.

Yost is operating on a two-year contract extension he signed this season.
