The Minnesota Twins have claimed Dusty Hughes, who had been designated by the Kansas City Royals last week for assignment. The Royals orginization had been the only team Hughes had ever been part of, but now he will move north to the American League Central Division rival Twins.
Last year as a rookie, Hughes was 1-3 with a 3.83 ERA in 57 appearances out the bullpen. He also posted 34 strikeouts and 24 walked batters.
