Jason Grey, baseball writer for ESPN, recently wrote up a list of points to take away from the Arizona Fall League, and the Kansas City Royals have a great reason to celebrate. That's because their top prospect who rises above several impressive names finally came around after injury to swing the bat incredibly well while playing in the AFL. If he keeps it up, Wil Myers might make his KC debut in 2012.
Grey writes, "The Kansas City Royals prospect's left knee problems (he was still experiencing soreness and swelling late in the year) and other minor ailments were a bigger factor in Myers' relatively disappointing performance in the Texas League this year than many realize, especially given the stress he puts on that knee with his swing mechanics. We saw what a healthy Myers was capable of during the AFL (1.16 OPS with more walks than strikeouts), as he drove the ball consistently, with the ball jumping off his bat."
