The New York Jets hired Bill Hughan as strength coach on Monday. This is the type of news that usually ends up as a small blurb in any news release but because of who he's replacing it's a large news item. Hughan replaces Sal Alosi who famously set up a wall and tripped the opponents on the sidelines during a game.
↵Believe it or not, Hughan has a few local ties.
↵He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Missouri from 2001-2003. He also worked with the Omaha Royals, KC's AAA affiliate. He's also coached or the Oakland Raiders.
↵It's unclear if Hughan will be copying Alosi and blocking the sidelines to trip players. My guess is he probably won't be.
