Kyle Davies Put On Disabled List, Tejeda And Teaford Called Up To Kansas City

Well so much for waiting until Tuesday to announce who may be coming up to replace Vin Mazzaro, as Royals Director of Media Relations, David Holtzman tweeted within the last few minutes that Kyle Davies is going on the disabled listed and the club has called up Robinson Tejeda and Everett Teaford from AAA Omaha.

Tejeda had went on the disabled list back on April 13th and had since been down with Omaha. In seven games with Kansas City this season Tejeda is 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA. Last season he was 3-5 for the Royals with a 3.54 ERA in 61 innings pitched.

Teaford, a left-hander, will be making his major league debut. The 5'11" Teaford was a 12th round selection of the Royals in the 2006 draft and is 27 years old. In 10 games (three starts) with Omaha this season, Teaford was 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP. Last season at Northwest Arkansas, Teaford was 14-3 with a 3.36 ERA, splitting time between starting and the bullpen.
