The Kansas City Royals have added an entertainment component for the rest of the 2011 season from an unlikely place -- Joplin, Missouri. The site of the tragic tornadoes that changed the lives of so many on May 22 has received much aid from around the state and in the KC area, but now it's giving back to Royals on select dates through the rest of the season.
As the Royals official release notes, "Many members of Royal Thunder were affected by the devastating tornado that ripped through Joplin on May 22, including two students who lost homes in the disaster. The group is excited to come together for a brief reprieve from the recent struggles and entertain Royals fans." A full schedule can be found at Royals.com, but the next date after tonight's game is Saturday, July 23.
