The Kansas City Royals were starting to look like they had some decent momentum. Then they ran into the pitching momentum of Alex Cobb. The latest impressive young hurler in a string of several for the Rays, Cobb threw 7 shutout innings in a 5-0 win over the Royals to take the last game of a three game set. However, the Royals have still won their last two series.

In today's action, Felipe Paulino got roughed in a few places and Ben Zobrist provided the majority of the Rays offense going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. Desmond Jennings, the Rays overly hyped outfield prospect, continues to make good on the buzz surrounding his recent call-up with another solid day at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a stolen base. From there, Cobb took care of the rest with an efficient afternoon.

Chris Getz provided the lone bright spot for the Royals, going 2 for 2 with a walk as well. The rest of the Royals line-up looked anemic against Cobb and seemed the exact opposite of earlier offensive displays in the series.

Up next for the Royals is a road series in Boston at Fenway Park for a few games against the Red Sox. Jon Lester takes the hill for the BoSox tomorrow night while the Royals hope Kyle Davies can find some magic on the road. Game time is 6:10 CT.
