Kansas City Royals Have Solid Team Presence On Twitter

With the emerging popularity of social media, the Kansas City Royals have many players utilizing it throughout the organization.

Let's be honest, in this day and age you are likely getting your day to day baseball information from either MLB Trade Rumors or the wonderful world of Twitter. Twitter features an endless abundance of knowledgeable people, from team specific beat writers, to many people involved with scouting, while also featuring many players themselves.

When it comes to younger players who are in the minor leagues, it provides an insight of many guys you may have heard of, but not necessarily seen yet on the field. From a fan standpoint it's an amazing thing as you can begin to learn about the players as they are making their way up to the big leagues.

Another thing you will quickly notice is the fun many of the young players are having and how much they enjoying supporting each other off and on the field. Many of these athletes are still teenagers or still in the early 20's which is a reminder that these are still kids at times. That can be forgotten at times when people start to look at baseball as strictly business.

So going into the season I have decided to provide fans with a listing of all known (to my knowledge) Kansas City Royals organizational players that are on twitter. There may be a few out there that I don't even know about, and feel free to leave a handle in the comments section if you know of one. We'll have some fun with this and I'll point out some of the better tweeters out there amongst Royals players.

These are posted by what level the players finished 2011 in the event that there are some names you may not be familiar with yet.

As for some awards, let's first start with the best twitter handle and that goes to Royals reliever Everett Teaford. You have to give credit to someone who can mix their name with a little bit of history. @teaparty61 does just that as it shows some thought was put into it.

For the best twitter profile, that also goes to Teaford whose profile states "Kansas City Royals Pitcher and Most Uninteresting Man In Baseball". Love to see guys have some fun with this, and between his handle and profile, you can start to see Teaford is clever, and has the ability to have fun. This is a different side of him than just on the baseball field.

Also of note, there should be special recognition for Alcides Escobar, who has just one tweet to his credit. Back on on August 3rd, 2009 he tweeted "Just got Swept By Isotopes....i'm out later guys". Brilliant.
