Kansas City Royals outfield prospect Brian Fletcher will represent the West Division of the Arizona Fall League in the Rising Stars game Saturday night. Fletcher plays for the Surprise Saguaros, and ended his regular year in the Royals minor league system playing with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
Fletcher, 24, hit .272/.335/.422 with 15 home runs, 26 doubles, and 59 RBIs in a total of 552 plate appearances between high-A Wilmington of the Carolina League and Northwest Arkansas, which plays in the Texas League. Fletcher bats and throws right-handed. He was an 18th-round selection of the Royals in 2010, out of Auburn.
The Rising Stars game will be broadcast at 7 p.m. from Scottsdale, Ariz. on MLB Network and on MLB.com, along with Sirius/XM Satellite Radio. Players for this seventh-annual showcase were selected by scouting and farm system directors from every Major League club, along with input from the Arizona Fall League personnel staff.
