The three key members of the new Kansas City Royals starting rotation will be attending the 2012 Royals FanFest on Jan. 19, according to the team's press release:
The three offseason additions to Kansas City's rotation -- James Shields, Wade Davis and Ervin Santana -- will attend the 2013 Royals FanFest on Jan. 19 at the Overland Park Convention Center.
Santana (acquired from the Angels on Oct. 31), Wade and Davis (both acquired from the Rays on Dec. 9) will join manager Ned Yost, along with a number of current and former Royals players for the event.
The Royals traded a number of top prospects, including minor league player of the year Wil Myers, Jake Odorizzi and Mike Montgomery, for Davis and Shields from the Tampa Bay Rays. The Royals also traded left-hander Brandon Sisk to the Angels for Santana, as Kansas City has made a commitment to winning with a revamped rotation.
Also attending the FanFest are Billy Butler, Bruce Chen, Aaron Crow, Danny Duffy, Jarrod Dyson, Alcides Escobar, Chris Getz, Johnny Giavotella, Alex Gordon, Luke Hochevar, Greg Holland, Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Salvador Perez, Will Smith and Everett Teaford.
