Royals announce 2013 minor league coaching staff

The Royals announced their coach staff for their minor league teams on Friday.

On Friday, the Kansas City Royals announced their minor league staff for the 2013 season. The Triple-A affiliate Omaha Storm Chasers were able to keep most of their staff intact for the upcoming season. The manager will once again be Mike Jirschele, he has served as team's manager for the past 10 seasons.

There will be a new pitching coach at Omaha, as Larry Carter who moves up from the Double-A level. Carter has been with the Royals organization for 16 seasons. The hitting coach will be Tommy Gregg who will be entering his fifth season with Omaha.

The Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals return Brian Poldberg as their manager. He is the only skipper the team has ever had, and he is entering his sixth season as the manager. He has led the Naturals fo the playoffs in four of his five seasons.

At the Single-A level level it wil be Vance Wilson who will enter his second season as manager Wilmington Blue Rocks. The Blue Rocks are in the advanced level of Class A minor league ball.

The newest affilate with the Royals will be the Lexington Legends who are part of the South Atlantic League Single-A affilate. The manager for them will be Brian Buchanan, who was the manager at Kane County in 2012 and prior to that he spent two seasons at Idaho Falls.
