Royals And Athletics Stuck In Rain Delay; First Pitch Expected 9:45 pm CST

And we have our first Royals rain delay of the 2012 before the start of the fifth game of the season.

After losing 1-0 on Monday evening, it doesn't help the fact that the players are eager to hit the field and get the bats going after last night's performance at the plate.

What is most unfortunate is that with the game already starting late in the midwest, it looks like the game this evening will go into the early morning hours in Kansas City.

There will be a lot of coffee needed at work tomorrow morning for Royals fans.

While you wait, it should be noted that the Omaha Storm Chasers won a 9-8 16-inning marathon over the Round Rock Express this afternoon. Round Rock is the AAA affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

In a game that lasted 5 hours and 24 minutes, using a combined 13 pitchers, Omaha won on a Jarrod Dyson triple to right field that scored Irving Falu from first.

Falu and Derrick Robinson had four hits each, while Dyson was 2-for-7 with a walk and two stolen bases.

Omaha is now 5-1 on the season.
