Royals Vs. Indians: Kansas City Loses Home Opener, 8-3

The Kansas City Royals could not rebound after giving up seven runs in the top of the first inning to the Cleveland Indians in their home opener in Kauffman Stadium. The Royals now have 3-4 record and the Indians, are now 2-4, winning their first road game.

The Indians scored seven runs on starting pitcher Luke Hochevar, who got the loss, in the top of the first inning on nine hits and in the end, that is what did the Royals in. The Royals scored one in the bottom of the first and tried to come back by scoring two more in the bottom of the fourth, but in the end, it wasn't enough as that would be the last time they'd score.

The Indians, after scoring seven in the first, didn't put another run on the board all the way up until the top of the ninth, when shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera hit a home run to center field, which was the game's only home run despite the high score.
